Why We Exist

Built for female founders who are ready to think seriously about what comes next.

100%
of business owners will exit their business.
The ones who plan for it exit on their own terms.

Exit Welle exists to make sure the women building Canada's most remarkable businesses are in that group. We start earlier than a transaction conversation, go deeper than a valuation, and bring the kind of guidance that matches the size of the decision you're navigating.

How We Work

Education first. Because the quality of every decision that follows depends on it.

Most business owners arrive at exit planning when they feel ready to leave — which is almost always later than they should. By that point, the decisions feel urgent, the options feel limited, and the clarity that should have been built over years has to be compressed into months.

Because great exits are not just executed, they're built.

When you understand how valuation actually works, what buyers and successors genuinely look for, and what every available exit path means in practice — you make fundamentally different decisions. More intentional ones. Ones that reflect what you actually want, not just what's available at the time.

That's why we start with the course. Founders who invest in understanding their options early arrive at every subsequent conversation with more clarity, more confidence, and more room to choose. The advisory work that follows is sharper. The decisions made at the end are better. And the outcome — whatever path is chosen — is one that was genuinely built around their goals.

Our Founder

Jessica Craig
Founder · MBA · CBI · CEPA

Less than 1% of businesses that sold a majority stake over the last decade were female-founded. That's the number Exit Welle was built to move.

Jessica Craig spent the early part of her career in banking, sitting across from business owners navigating one of the most significant decisions of their professional lives. What she kept seeing was a gap — not in the tools available, but in who those tools were reaching and how well they were preparing the women who needed them most.

She went on to earn her MBA, build a career in M&A advisory, and earn the Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) and Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) designations — the two most recognised credentials in business transition and exit planning. She served as President of IBBA Canada and remains on its Board today.

She founded Exit Welle to put that experience to work where it was needed. An advisory firm where education comes first, every exit pathway is taken seriously, and the founder who walks in the door is the one the whole model was built around.

Our Partners

The right team makes all the difference.

A successful exit rarely happens in isolation. The most well-prepared founders are surrounded by the right people — advisors, specialists, and practitioners who each bring something specific to the table. The quality of your team is one of the most important factors in whether your exit goes well.

We've built relationships with trusted partners across the areas that matter most in a business transition. When your path calls for expertise outside our core advisory work, we make the introduction — a personal connection to someone we know, whose work we trust, and whose approach fits the way we work.
